We are delighted to be working with icanyoucantoo, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering non-privileged young people and their community in London. As part of our support, we have donated 60 refurbished laptops, each equipped with Microsoft 365 and Webroot antivirus licensing, to a group of students who don’t have access to their own laptops.

What do icanyoucantoo do?

icanyoucantoo tackles social inequality head-on by addressing the challenges at the heart of their community. They provide support to young people through coaching and mentoring to help them acquire the necessary skills to gain entry to further education, apprenticeships and/or employment.

They provide vulnerable families with hot meals and hygiene supplies, during school holidays – and provide educational equipment, to young people, throughout the year. As well as working directly with the community, they also empower corporates by sharing their knowledge – through ‘Storytelling’ presentations – to educate and inspire everyone from start-ups to FTSE-100 companies to get involved and play their part in levelling the playing field.

icanyoucantoo’s guiding belief is that no one should be hindered by their social status and that a person’s worth should not be determined by their background, postcode, or family circumstances.

Nilesh B. Dosa, founder of icanyoucantoo says:

A massive thank you to Air IT for this incredibly generous, and important, donation – these laptops will give our young people the necessary tools to aid their education. A big thanks to Amy Turner, Ed Bowley and Frazer Leigh for their relentless hard work. And finally, a big shout out to Mickey Patel – of August Equity – for facilitating this initiative.

Empowering education

Air IT has undertaken an initiative to collect spare or unused laptops from around our company and our clients, to donate them to icanyoucantoo. The initiative aims to support young individuals, with whom the social enterprise works, by providing them with access to IT equipment to support them with their education.

We’re thrilled to announce that our team has successfully collected, wiped, and rebuilt 60 laptops, each equipped with Office 365 and Webroot antivirus licensing. The laptops will be donated to icanyoucantoo which will then be passed onto its ‘23/24′ cohort of year 12 students – who currently don’t have access to their own laptops.

In addition to providing the students with laptops, we will also provide basic IT support for the laptops for two years, which will be accessible through our dedicated service desk, while they complete the duration of their Further Education. After their studies, the licencing and IT support will come to an end, but the students will be able to keep their laptops for their personal use.

We would like to thank our partners and valued clients for their support and generous contribution of a significant number of laptops, which has been instrumental in our efforts.

James Healey, COO at Air IT added:

icanyoucantoo aims to tackle social inequality head on. We were moved by their commitment to supporting disadvantaged communities, especially Nilesh’s (Founder) unwavering dedication to this great cause.

It is often assumed that everyone has access to technology, but the stark reality is that this is not always the case, with many young people lacking access to essential opportunities and resources that we sometimes take for granted.

We’re therefore proud to be supporting a new intake of young adults, ensuring they have their very own device to support them with their education. We’ll be supplying each student with a modern and secure laptop that is equipped with the very latest version of Microsoft 365, as well as providing them with ongoing IT support if they face any difficulties with their devices.

We also plan to actively engage in mentoring and coaching sessions for young people interested in pursuing a career in technology. By offering guidance, we aim to empower them for success in the ever-evolving world of technology.

Thinking about upgrading your laptops?

If your business is considering laptop upgrades or has spare, unused laptops taking up space, we would love to hear from you.

Our dedicated teams will take the necessary steps to securely wipe and rebuild any devices entrusted to us, ensuring they are ready to hand over to icanyoucantoo so they can make a profound difference in supporting the education of more young individuals.
