Head office in Kidlington, Oxfordshire

Active Oxfordshire is a member of Active Partnerships (formerly the County Sports Partnership Network) and is a registered charity that works with partners to create active and healthy communities across Oxfordshire. As with many Active Partnerships, Active Oxfordshire made the decision to split from Oxfordshire County Council, with whom it had a long-term hosting relationship. This allowed it to become a separate entity and attain charity status, thus opening up new funding opportunities.

Active Oxfordshire

Being hosted within the Council’s servers had been very restrictive. We now have excellent operational flexibility, where before there was none. With our own IT infrastructure and under the guidance of Air IT, we can embrace practices such as mobile working, and make adjustments to improve our service as we see fit. Air IT’s first-class support has been exceptionally helpful, throughout the installation process and beyond.

How we helped

Air IT helped this Active Partnerships member to complete its separation from its local county council. This involved the extraction of its systems and data from Council servers, office relocation support and a comprehensive overhaul of its IT infrastructure.

Through our work with the Active Partnerships, Active Oxfordshire was advised to contact us to discuss the creation of a new secure and flexible IT platform. We designed a cloud-integrated infrastructure that would increase the client’s productivity and introduce better collaboration capabilities.

We set up a new Microsoft Office 365 tenancy for the organisation, with access to key cloud services such as file sharing and email, and specified, procured and installed new equipment for all staff.

Active Oxfordshire also relocated from its Council-owned premises into brand new offices. We used a trusted partner to set up new connectivity and telephony infrastructure, ensuring the organisation was fully operational with minimal downtime.

By taking ownership of the project, we were able to save Active Oxfordshire a great deal of time, money and unnecessary stress. Continuing these themes, we now fully support the client with our ongoing Managed IT Support and Security Services, ensuring a proactively maintained and importantly, protected IT infrastructure.
