Great People Awards Q4

On Friday 18th December, everyone at Air IT came together for our final company-wide Microsoft Teams meeting of the year, to find out who had won the Q4 Great People Awards. There was even more excitement this time around as we also announced the coveted Employee of the Year awards.

Firstly, we announced the winners of the Great People Awards which are made up of two categories.


Outstanding Customer Service

The Outstanding Customer Service award recognises the Service Desk employee with the highest percentage of positive responses from clients upon completing their support tickets. This quarter’s winner was Tiz Lateef, who received an impressive 53 positive responses. This is testament to the friendly, efficient service Tiz provides for our clients on a daily basis. Well done Tiz!

L.O.V.E (Live Our Values Everyday)

Based on internal feedback, the L.O.V.E award is determined by the amount of peer recognition given and received by Air IT colleagues for demonstrating our company values. The title this quarter was once again reclaimed by John, our Internal Systems Administrator. The go-to person for any internal IT needs, John is always happy to help – he received credit from an impressive 79 colleagues this quarter! Keep up the great work John!

Employee of the Year

Finally, we announced the winners of the biggest award in the calendar – Employee of the Year. We had two awards to present this year as we were joined by our Birmingham colleagues.

To decide who wins Employee of the Year, the Senior Management team looked at various criteria:

  • Nominations and performance information
  • Learning and development activities
  • Objectives completed
  • Significant achievements
  • Peer recognition


The winner of Employee of the Year from the Birmingham office is Sam Chappell, IT Support Technician. Sam is a consistent top performer who is always willing to go above and beyond. He is a supportive team player who receives positive feedback from clients, and has completed training to the highest standard.

Andrew Penlington, Managing Director at the Birmingham office, said:

Sam completed his apprenticeship in May and, even then, he was helping the team and stepping way above expectations – he’s a shining star for the future for sure.

Jamie Hissitt, Solutions Architect, was crowned Employee of the Year from the Nottingham office. Jamie consistently performs in his own role as well as supporting others in theirs. He has introduced new departmental procedures and ways of working and completed several technical certifications and training activities. Jamie is also well known by many of our clients, having clocked up years of dedicated service to Air IT in various roles.

John Whitty, CEO, said:

After what has been an unexpected year, you have got to admire everyone’s resilience in being able to continue working throughout the pandemic, whilst maintaining high levels of professionalism and customer service. It’s great to be able to celebrate the year’s successes and the individuals that have worked towards them.


James Healey, COO, said:

We have achieved a lot this year and we’d like to thank the whole team. This year has brought many challenges to our usual ways of working, but the team has adapted well and everybody should be proud of their work and commitment. It’s a shame we can’t celebrate in the same way as usual but we will make up for it as soon as we possibly can!
